Meet Dr. Roberson
Online Registration

Your visit to our office will consist of a consultation, oral examination, and x-rays (if necessary).  Dr. Roberson will thoroughly discuss your surgery, anesthesia, pre-operative instructions and post operative instructions.  Your surgery can be performed on the same day of your consultation or be scheduled for another day.  If your surgery requires hospitalization, we will give you the necessary instructions.  We will provide the treatment plan that is best for you and your well-being.

What is Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery?  Oral & Maxillofacial surgery is a recognized specialty of the dental profession, involving the surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries and deformities involving both the functional and cosmetic aspects of the mouth, teeth, gums and jaws.  An oral & maxillofacial surgeon is a graduate of an accredited dental school who has completed additional post-doctorate training (4-6 years) in an accredited, hospital based oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.  As an oral & maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Roberson cares for people with problem wisdom teeth, malaligned jaws, facial pain, jaw cysts and tumors.  He can perform a full range of dental implant procedures on patients with missing teeth.  He treats accident victims with facial injuries, offering reconstructive and esthetic solutions.  He helps patients with birth defects such as cleft lip & palate and treats cancer patients.  Dr. Roberson administers various forms of anesthesia in his office such as IV sedation.  Patients are monitored during and after surgery.  His concern extends for the overall oral health of his patients.

Scheduling

Dr. Roberson’s office is open Monday through Friday between 8:00 and 5:00 p.m.  We will schedule your appointment as soon as possible for your convenience.  If you are having pain, every attempt will be made to see you that day.  We try to stay on schedule to reduce your waiting time.  Sometimes unforeseen circumstances can lengthen a procedure, therefore causing a delay.  Also, emergencies or hospital surgeries can cause a delay in the schedule.  We appreciate your understanding and patience.  If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

Consultation

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and probable treatment.  Dr. Roberson will spend the appropriate time with you to thoroughly explain your surgery and answer all your questions.  Pre-operative instructions will be given to you as it pertains to your surgery.  Usually, surgery can be performed in the office on the same day as the consultation.  If so, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home after surgery.  Your escort will also have to remain in our office while your surgery is being done. However, if you have an extensive medical history or treatment plan, a second appointment will be necessary to provide you the best treatment.  Occasionally, surgery must be done at the hospital and we will provide you the necessary instructions.

You can assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip

  • Any x-rays taken at the dentist's or physician's office

  • If you have medical or dental insurance, please bring your cards

  • List of medications you are presently taking

NOTE:  All patients under the age of 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian with them at the consultation and surgery visit.  All patients for surgery over the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Radiographs (X-rays)

If you have had a panorex or periapical x-ray taken by your dentist or physician, please have them sent to us prior to your consultation or surgery.  You may have to pick them up from their office and bring them to our office.  If you do not have films or additional ones are needed, we will take them at our office.
